Through the Waters: “Brother”

Oct 11, 2026  •  Daniel Kitchel

Saul of Tarsus was a hunter. He came to Damascus with arrest warrants and chains, ready to drag followers of Jesus back to Jerusalem. Then a light brighter than the noon sun put him on the ground, and the man who came to lead prisoners was led by the hand, blind, into the city.

God sent an ordinary disciple named Ananias to the house on Straight Street. Ananias was afraid, and he had every reason to be. But when he walked through that door, his first word to the most feared man in the church was “Brother.” Saul hadn’t earned it. He hadn’t preached a sermon or written a letter. He was called family first, and then he rose and was baptized.

In this message from our Through the Waters series, we look at how God brings new life and how He never asks us to go through the water alone. Who needs you to call them brother or sister this week?
