"You Must Be Born Again"

Dec 21, 2025    Daniel Kitchel

This message explores the tension between human effort and divine promise, showing that there are two ways to live and two ways to relate to God: One born of performance and one born of the Spirit.

Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years for God’s promise to be fulfilled. In the waiting, they tried to help God, and for a time, it looked like it worked. But what was produced by effort could never bring peace, freedom, or inheritance.

Paul connects this story to our own hearts, and Jesus does the same with Nicodemus in John 3:

“You must be born again.”

This sermon asks:

• Are you living as a son or a slave?

• Are you obeying to earn love or because you are loved?

• Have you experienced the miracle of new birth?

Being born again isn’t about becoming more religious: It’s about receiving a life you could never produce on your own.
