Who WE are: What to Expect:
Plain and simple: We love Christ and we love one another. You will find a casual and family friendly atmosphere in all that we do. Our heart is set on doing our best to "Be the Church." We don't believe that buildings, stuff and numbers should be the goal. We desire to grow our church deep first and we believe the width will happen naturally as a result of our depth.
The Bible is preached and taught in all that we do. Our children know the depth of Jesus' love every time they are taught. The youth of our church are shown the wisdom of walking in the knowledge of Christ. All of our adults, through our preaching and Home Groups, are challenged each week to let Christ be the center all of all that they do. One of our biggest goals as a church is for us to be real and authentic with one another. We want you to feel comfortable with who you truly are as a person. We are not interested in maintaining an image of "everything being OK" in our lives. Loving one another through our struggles, sins and weaknesses is one of the greatest ways we can bring about true change. In short, we know that Christ changes everything. The message of The Cross shows the power of His love for us. Paul said this in Galatians 6:14: "As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died." |
To us, our Sunday morning service is an incredibly special part of who we are at The Cross Church. We believe that coming together as a church family each week is vitally important to us being connected and growing in our love for one another. However, we don't believe that it should be the only thing that defines us. Our goal is to move our church beyond just "going to church" once a week and being an attendee. We hope that our church is a place that presses you to want to belong and a place to call home.
Each week, we begin with fellowship at 10:30am. Our music is simple and acoustic guitar driven. We have a good mix of contemporary and older hymns. Following this, we share in Communion as a church family. All believers in Christ, including guests, are invited to partake with us. This is a sacred and holy moment for us each week. After communion we dismiss the children to attend their own classes. All others stay in the sanctuary for the sermon. We always close with an intimate time of prayer and response as a family. People are encouraged to come forward for prayer and any other spiritual needs they might have. Our atmosphere is very casual and easygoing, yet reverent at the same time. |
